Mary Chedzoy

Daughter of Levi Chedzoy and Ann Pearce, baptised 15 Apr 1764 at Stoke St Gregory, the eldest of their seven children. FreeREG record No confident later record has been found. The FreeREG marriage index shows no Mary Chedzoy marrying at Stoke St Gregory or its neighbouring parishes; the only Mary Chedzoy marriages in the wider county within range (Burnham on Sea 1797, Holford 1802) are in distant parishes belonging to other Chedzoy families and do not fit her. No burial for her appears in the Stoke St Gregory transcripts. Her trail ends at her baptism. She may have died young (the burial register has gaps) or married away from the area. Treated as unproven beyond baptism.
