Son of William Chedzoy (#53) and Rachel Sperring; born about 1818 (his baptism falls in the Stoke St Gregory register gap and is not in FreeREG; date from WikiTree). Recorded as died 9 May 1885, buried St Mary's Old Cemetery, Taunton (from WikiTree, unverified here).
A marriage to Elizabeth Smart (Otterhampton, 1834) is attached in the imported data but is UNVERIFIED and doubtful as his: it would make him about 16, in a distant parish, and there were several William Chedzoys of the period. To be confirmed against the census and civil registration.

{CENSUS} Death corroborated: Civil Reg. Death Index Jun 1885 (matches our 1885). Possible 1851 census: a William Chedzey b.~1818 with wife Ann and son Henry at Puriton, Somerset, but birthplace given as Goathurst (vs our Stoke St Gregory) - probable, not confirmed. [Ancestry, transcription pass].
