DIRECT LINE, gen-8 (Chris's great-great-grandfather). Born 24 Oct 1861 at 20 Caroline Place, Islington, London; birth registered Islington Oct-Dec 1861 (GRO 1b/205). Mother: Sarah Caroline oDell (#1737). Married Mary Ann Durber; their son Harry (#6) was born 1896 in Birmingham.
His father - Chris's true gen-7 ancestor - is currently mis-recorded as the infant John #19 (impossible). The real father is a John Chedgzoy who was in London by 1861 and married Sarah Caroline oDell. That John has NOT yet been identified by record: he needs finding in the 1861/1871 census (the surname is badly mangled in London returns) or via John James's birth certificate / the parents' marriage certificate, which would name John's own father and reconnect (or not) to the Stoke St Gregory line.
The family's path so far: Somerset -> London (1861) -> Birmingham (1896) -> Redditch.

[2026-06-13 Ancestry] Own vitals corroborated by GRO indexes: BIRTH Oct 1861 Islington, London (GRO Birth Index 1837-1915); DEATH Apr 1924 Aston, Warwickshire (GRO Death Index 1916-2007). Parents per Muston tree: father John Chedgzoy (=#19, see his record), mother Sarah Caroline O Dell. Spouse Mary Anne Durber. The father link (#19) is correct; only #19 own death date is mis-recorded (see #19 note). Direct-line gen-8.

Married Mary Ann Durber (#1728) in Birmingham; daughter Doris (Dolly). 1911 census at Aston; 1921 census in Warwickshire (recorded b.Birmingham). Died Apr 1924 at Aston, Warwickshire (Death Index).
