DIRECT LINE gen-7. The surviving son named John of John #28 & Ann - the name was reused after an infant John (bapt. 2 Aug 1835, buried 20 Mar 1836 = #19) died. Born c.1836 Stoke St Gregory (age 5 in #28's 1841 census household). Married Sarah Caroline O'Dell 30 Jun 1861 at St Mary, Islington [London CofE Marriages & Banns] - the certificate names his father as John Chedgzoy, labourer (= #28); he gives his own trade as "groom". A gardener by 1871 (census, Kings Norton, Worcs, RG 10/3080) living with Sarah and children incl. John James (#10). Died Q3 1874, Kings Norton. Created 15 Jun 2026 to replace the phantom infant #19 in the spine - documentary, not inferred. (His own father #28's parentage, the Issacher question, remains UNRESOLVED above this point.)
{CENSUS} Death corroborated: Civil Reg. Death Index Sep 1874 Worcestershire (Birmingham area) - matches our 1874. Married Sarah Caroline oDell (#1737). As a child appears in 1841 (a John Chedgzoy at Stoke St Gregory, and one at Charlinch - same household cluster). Moved from Somerset to the Birmingham area where he died. (One external tree assigns parents Thomas Chedgey + Mary Trowbridge - unverified, possibly a different John.) [Ancestry, transcription pass].
[2026-06-25 FamilySearch] 1841 census (HO107/941/5, Woodhill, Stoke St Gregory) confirms this John, age 5 (b~1836), in John #28's household with mother Ann + siblings Eliza(10), Daniel(9), Edmund(7), Dinah(1). Confirms #2057 is John #28's son alive 1841 (NOT the infant #19 who died 1836) - the gen-6->gen-7 direct-line link is solid.
