Eldest daughter of Harry #6 and Edith Annie Clifford. Born 8 Sep 1918, registered Oct-Dec 1918 Aston, Birmingham [England and Wales Civil Reg. Birth Index; DOB 8 Sep 1918 per multiple member trees]. As an infant she went to CANADA with her parents on the family 1919-1924 emigration: a Dorothy Chedgzoy, born Birmingham, appears in the Canada Ocean Arrivals (Form 30A) arriving Quebec and in the UK Incoming Passenger Lists returning via Liverpool [Ancestry], corroborating the family Canada chapter (see Harry #6 and Phyllis #8). Married Bernard N Pledger, registered Apr-Jun 1941, Birmingham [Civil Reg. Marriage Index], so she lived and died as Dorothy Pledger, which is why a Chedgzoy search beyond 1941 would miss her. Died Apr-Jun 1969, aged about 50 [multiple member trees; the Pledger civil death index would confirm the exact entry]. This confirms the family recollection that she was older than Ronald (1918 vs 1932): she was the eldest of Harry and Edith children. [Found 19 Jun 2026]
