A Harriet Chedgzoy was baptised at Stoke St Gregory on 6 Nov 1842 (FreeREG, Chedgzoy spelling), very likely her; parentage taken from the imported data, to be cross-checked against the census. Her marriage and death are for the census and civil-registration (Ancestry) pass. [merged from duplicate #1704] Child of John Chedgzoy and Ann, labourer, baptised 06 Nov 1842 at Stoke St Gregory. Siblings: Andrew, Charles, Charlotte, Daniel, Dinah, Edmund, Eliza, George, Hannah, Harriet, James, John, Louisa, Martha, Mary, Noah, Sarah, Thomas. Parents confirmed from the FreeREG baptism record. [2026-06-13 Ancestry] Identity confirmed (dau of John #28 & Ann #29): baptised Stoke St Gregory; 1851 census at home (father John, mother Ann, sibling Daniel); per Chedgzoy/Bell tree still resident Stoke St Gregory in 1871 (so alive aged ~29). Therefore the GRO death-index entry "Harriet Chedgzoy d. Mar 1858 Gloucestershire" is a DIFFERENT person, not her. Death/marriage NOT yet confirmed: candidates to check = a Harriet Chedgzoy marriage Q4 1877 Barton Regis (Glos.) and a Harriet Chedgzoy/William Sperrin marriage (Bristol parish). Left death blank pending a confident match. {CENSUS} Child of John Chedzoy (#28, the apex) + Ann; appears as a child in the #28 household at Stoke St Gregory (1841 era).
